Nothing new

Exept a little change in the colors of my blog! Just finishing up some work on the computer when I decided I needed a change. As soon as I get some free time I would like to completely re-design my blog and make it my own. But, that could be a while! Right now I'm trying to finish my last 2 college courses on-line, working full-time, a mother, a wife and learning a new job! At times it seems like I have too much on my plate and it feels like I never accomplish anything. Well, that could be because I don't ever really finish anything. Like my house, every room I have started re-decorating, but none of them are completely finished - and that really bugs my husband because before I finish one room - I'm working on the next!! Well, hopefully one day my plate will be partly empty so I can maybe finish ONE project completely!!

Well, another day ends for me -
Good night.

Ad Challenge #2

Even though the weather wasn't all that great this weekend, I didn't get much accomplished. But, I did get to enjoy the long weekend with my family. Yesterday my hubby got me and our daughter out on the lake in his new boat for a couple hours. We didn't catch anything, but we still had a good time until our darling daughter decided she didn't want to be out there any longer! Today consisted of a sleep-in day, catch up on the soaps and a few hours at the park with my daughter. I did get a chance to do one layout for the ad challenge from Designer Digitals. I was hoping to get a few more posts this weekend, but I guess this one will have to do!

I've had these pictures for a while now so I thought I would do something with them. These were taken by me at a local radar run this winter. My hubby, son-in-law and a good friend of mine raced their sleds and they all won 1st place in their division! It was a good day!

till next time

Sorry...

for the neglect the last couple of days with no new postings! Seems I have been a bit busy and I haven't found the time to sit down and write anything - or scrapbook anything. But, I am looking forward to the coming weekend and my plan is to spend a lot of that time in my scrapbook room! It looks like the weather is going to be crappy all weekend so I guess that's the perfect time to sit and look at my computer screens all day. I did come across this on CD's Blog today - you MUST check it out if you are like me and ever wondered "how does she do it?"! She designs some incredible scrapbook layouts and on the Creating Keepsakes website, she put together a whole article from start to finish on how she goes about putting her scrapbook pages together - it's wonderful! So check it out... www.creatingkeepsakes.com and click on the link in the middle of the page that says "start to finish: C.D. Muckosky" I can guarantee you will enjoy it!

See ya tomorrow!

Ad Challenge

I just had to do one more layout before I went to bed when I found this ad challenge on www.DesignerDigitals.com. I really like doing the challenges like these because it gets me scrapbooking more than usual. Ok, so I've had these pictures of my daughter for almost 2 years now and I haven't done anything with them yet (bad mom) it's hard for me to say that I haven't even printed them out! So, I thought now would be a good time to use them in a layout! The free download for this challenge (those little black line thingies) are so neat that I think I will be using them again in future layouts. I also used another freebie (the connected little frames in the bottom right hand corner) from Janosch designs www.janoschsscrapblog.blogspot.com Well, time for me to sign off for the night.

Good night and sleep tight.

Already Graduating

My little girl is going to graduate from Kindergarten! It's so hard to believe that this day is already here. I thought I would share her graduation announcement (I took out the information that was on the bottom) and some of the wallet pictures I made for her. I took the pictures myself and used Photoshop elements to add the text and the cool effects. She was pretty excited to hand them out to her classmates - it reminded me of when I was graduating from high school!

Finally

Finally - I had a chance to sit down and put together a layout from the few pictures I took on Mother's Day. The ones I did take, didn't turn out the best because of the bright sunny day mixed with a very WINDY day (as you can tell on the pictures - we are all squinting and our hair is flying crazily in the wind). But, I guess you have to do with what you get huh?!

Well, it's time again to hit they hay! Goodnight and don't forget to check back again tomorrow...

New Hardware

Ok, I finally broke down and bought a laptop. I was to the point where I couldn't work on projects, classwork or just play around whenever or wherever I wanted! I've had it for over a week now and I really haven't had much time to play around with it. I do know already that I could never give up my desktop - it's just way easier to type with and my 2o" monitor was nice to look at too! Although this one has a 15.4" screen, it just seems sooo much smaller. But, it's going to be nice to be able to take it with me when I go somewhere and there is no computer (like my parents place and the in-law's). I did a lot of shopping around before I finally bought one. Everyone I talked to recommended buying a Dell. I was just about to hit the "complete purchase" button when I decided to see what HP had (since I had an HP desktop that I really like). Well, I was able to get the same computer for a few dollars less then the Dell, but the biggest selling point for me - was HP's design! I thought the look and style of the HP kicked butt on the Dell! I know that should not have been the selling point, but for me it was!

Rhonna's Purple Challenge

Finally - I got a chance to put together a layout for this weeks Rhonna Farrer's color challenge! I used a free digital kit that I downloaded from http://www.swordascrappin.blogspot.com/. She has some really cute downloads and I thought the colors she had would be perfect for the color challenge. Thanks a bunch "sworda" for the awesome (FREE) downloads!! You Rock!

Mother's Day

This weekend was a busy one. I didn't get a chance to scrapbook at all. We had a Friends surprise birthday party on Friday then Saturday was a full day of visiting my grandma, shopping, and going to the water park. Sunday was the traditional Mother's day dinner at my mom's then we had the 2 hour drive back home. The only bad part of the whole weekend was when we went to visit my grandma I took my camera out of my purse to take some pictures and realized I left my memory card in my computer at HOME in my computer! Thank goodness my sister-in-law had hers with so I did get some pictures of the weekend. I thought I would share a few with you - the first one is my daughter and her friend at the water park, the 2nd one is my daughter and the last one is of the girls (taken in my parents front yard).

I hope everyone had a wonderful Happy Mother's day!

Lifted

I just finished this layout of my little cousin Beau tonight. I totally scraplifted this idea because it was sooo cool! Of course I changed the title and the quote to fit my theme. The sample was a 12x12 layout but I decided to do a 8 1/2x11 layout instead. This way I can make an extra copy and frame and matte it in a 11x14 frame so he can display it in his room. I'm thinking black frame with a white (or black) matte . But if anyone has a cooler idea, please let me know!

If anyone is actually reading my blog and has any comments or suggestions as to what you would like to see, hear or talk about or what I can improve on - please let me know!!!

Thanks and have a good night!

Rhonna's BROWN Challenge

This is the design I came up with for Rhonna Farrer's Brown Challenge. Since brown has turned into my favorite color I thought I might as well do a page on that! So I had an idea to scrapbook my favorite things that are the color brown. Well, the idea that I had in my head didn't turn out exactly (not even remotely close) to what I had in mind. The design I had dreamed up looked way better in my head then it did on paper!! Maybe it has something to do with being up till 5 am the past 2 days?? Well, I am going to turn in early tonight since I have to be to work at 7 am tomorrow morning (can't do the 5 am tonight)!

Great Find

Happy Scrapbooking Day (yesterday)! I was doing some searching yesterday for some cool digital kits to download and I came across this site www.mistycatodesigns.blogspot.com and she had this really cool tutorial on how to do your first digital layout. She supplied the base of the layout and all you had to do was place your photo and your text. So, I had to check it out and boy, was that LO ever cute - I just had to post it. I wonder if I could use it for this weeks Rhonna Farrer's "BROWN" Challenge?! I know I can't but it would be a perfect LO for it!

Another late night -early morning...nighty night time!

Growing Up

OKAY! I am going to go to bed now. I just had to do one more layout before the sun rose :-).

Good night / Good morning to some of you!

Scrapjacked #8

It's been a long day - it's 1:14 am and I just finished this weeks scrapjacked! I'm so excited for tomorrow - or should I say TODAY! My May mosh-posh kit should be in the mail! Mosh-posh is the best monthly scrapbooking kit I have ever received. I have not been disappointed in one yet and I've been in this club for (I think) more then a year now. If you want to check out their site, I have a link on the right hand side under "favorite scrapbooking sites".

See you tomorrow!

Just Playing Around

Today I downloaded a really cute digital kit from Songbird Avenue (I have to mention that they are donating 100% of this month's profits to The March of Dimes) so around 10:30pm tonight I decided to play around with them a bit. I'm not too impressed with what I came up with - so just remember I was just PLAYING AROUND!

Good night.

Sweet

Here is a scrapbook page I designed using the "Pencil Lines" sketch #25 Challenge. The flowers I used on this page were actually colored and cut out by my 6 year old daughter. It was an art project that she brought home from school and I thought that they would make a great embelishment on a scrapbook page. Hope you like!
