Our Tree's

I figured I better hurry up and post the pictures of our Christmas trees before Christmas was over! Here is a quick view of our tree's we put up this year. The one in the living room only took until the 21st to get completed and it's not exactly "complete" either - we just threw some ornaments on "sparingly" so we could say it was done!

In case this is the last post before Christmas - I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

What have I been up to?

Well, besides homework...I have been busy designing Christmas cards for family and friends. I really enjoy doing stuff like that so it was nice to take a break from the class work and do something fun! Here are a few of the cards I have done so far:

I also took the pictures myself except for the Scheef card and the Hruby card they already had pictures they wanted to use. The last one is of my parents - my mom didn't want to do Christmas cards this year so I took a picture of them in my kitchen (mom has no make-up on and neither one of them are dressed up) and told them that was going to be their Christmas card - I don't think they believed me but I did use it and ordered them up before they could say "no"! Next year I think they will listen to me when I say "it's time to take your Christmas Card picture"! :-)

That's enough for tonight as I have to get one more assignment done before I go to bed. Hope you enjoyed the Cards!

Once a month?

Okay - seems that I'm working on a once a month post! I was really going to try to post more often but for some reason I never get a chance. It's almost December so I thought I should at least show you the Mosh Posh kit for December before they are all sold out. This month's kit is again totally AWESOME! sorry for the 80's lingo - but it is just that - AWESOME! It's called "gingerbread house" and it looks yummie too! I should be receiving my kit within the next couple weeks and I can't wait to start scrappin' with it. If you scrappers don't know what you want for Christmas - I would suggest a membership to Mosh-Posh - and you won't be disappointed at all.

Well, I gotta run and get the last Christmas tree up. My daughter and I already decorated her little tree that goes in the kitchen, then we decorated the Vikings tree that goes downstairs and right now my husband is trying to put the tree stand on the tree so it doesn't fall over(again)! That is the biggest one that we usually put in our living room. I will try and post a couple of pictures this weekend of the 3 trees we have (before Christmas is over) and the 3 other tiny ones I have downstairs but I keep those up all year round so those don't really count! I have lots of pictures to post so as soon as I find the time I will post them. I've been busy taking pictures and designing Christmas cards so I hope to post some of them soon.

See you later!

It's been tooo long!

Ok, so I'm a bit behind. Life just seems to fly by before you know it. I'm going to get back on the blog bandwagon here soon. I have so many new things to post but so little time to do it in! I've been to a few scrapbook weekends this summer and I haven't had a chance to post the layouts that I finished there so that I will get to soon. Tonight was Halloween of course and here is a quick picture of my daughter - she went as a red hat lady this year. Sounds like one older lady didn't think it was a cute idea! My husband just kind of laughed it off with her and then politely left to go to the next house. Anywho, they went trick or treating while I stayed home to hand out treats to the other kids in the neighborhood. Was a little quite this year then in the past - so some of the later kids were getting handfuls of candy because we surely don't need that stuff lying around the house. So, here is a picture of my daughter in her costume:

And, since I am a little behind I need to post the October and November Mosh Posh kits - the October one was so unbelievably AWESOME! Everything went together just perfectly and the colors were perfect. I love fall and the colors it brings and this kit is all that and more. If they still have some left I would snatch one up as fast as you can! Here is the picture of the newest kit (November's):

All I can say is this kit is SWEEEET! The colors are so cheery and all the stuff you get with the kit goes together so well, I can't wait to get this one in the mail and start using it with all those pictures I took this summer. The only item you can't see on the picture that comes with the kit are the doodlebug sugar coated brads and those are going to be super cute to use as is anything made by doodlebug. As I said earlier - I can't wait for this kit to arrive!

Well, that's it for this evening, I'll try and get a new post tomorrow. And I apologize to anyone that visits this site hoping for a new post and there hasn't been any!!

Good night -

Long overdue Update!

Yes, I am still alive! Just been so busy that I haven't had much time to update the blog. Of course yesterday was opening FOOTBALL weekend so that day was filled with big ups as the Vikings WON!! I was impressed on how they played. Sure they have some sore spots but overall I was happy with the outcome. Next week will be the test. We always do horrible against Detroit whether they are good or bad we always have a tough time with them. So I'm crossing my fingers we will be 2-0 after Sunday! Other then that just busy with another garage sale (I think I am done with that for this year)and that takes a lot of time to set up, tag and a wasted day to sit there and hope you get some sales! it was a good day for sales for everyone that had stuff they not longer use anymore and needed to get rid of. Right now I'm watching the Arizona/San Fransisco game. I picked San Fran to win so I have to stay up and cheer for them to win. Then that means that for the week I will have 4 wrong - not good, but not to bad for the first week either.

well, gotta go do some hollering for the 49ers...

September Mosh-Posh and I finished the race!

Gee another week has passed and no post. It's just been so tough finding time to blog and it's only going to get worse in September when I get back into my classes (must finish my 2 final on-line classes within the next 4 months) so my nose will be knee deep in accounting and web-design. I've only had a YEAR to finish these, but as you can see, I waited till the last minute to get it done. Actually I really haven't even started!!!! Anyway, it's starting to storm out so I better get off the computer! Here is September's Mosh-Posh kit - isn't it yummy!!!!

Also, this was the last week of the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race and here were my last 2 LO's (one had to be about your favorite movie and the other had to be a scraplift of one of your partners LO's AND the journaling has to be about the race). Both of the LO's were done very quickly as I didn't have much time left to spare to get them out. So be kind at your thoughts of how "not up to par" they are :-)!

That's it for tonight! Have a great week!

Oh, Yeah!

I forgot to mention that one of my LO's are featured on the Natural Designs in Scrapbooking home page!!! check that out here - I think it will be on there for about a week or so and it's the one that I did for the "fairy tale" race challenge.

ADSR challenge #9

Long time since I last posted . Been busy getting ready for the rummage sale we had this weekend. Those things sure tire a person out but I was happy with the outcome of all the work of tagging and using up a whole Saturday! Here is the LO I did for challenge #9 - it had to be about an embarrassing moment of ourselves. I almost didn't post it but my friend Lisa told me I had to!! So, here it is...

that's it for tonight!

I'm a slacker!

Can't believe it's been over a week since my last post! Please forgive me on my slackiness - I hope to get back on track next week. This week I'll be busy getting ready for a rummage sale so I'm guessing my only post will be the next challenge. I've been putting off these last 2 challenges and I have to apologize to my partner for waiting until the last minute! Sorry Sharon!! I should soon be able to get back on track.

On to this weeks challenge, challenge #7 had to be one that I had to do the background, use a minimum of 10 pictures, and the title. Then, we swapped our LO's with our partner and they finished it with the embellishments. Here are both the LO's:

The first one is Sharon's where I added the embellishments.

The second one is the one that I did and Sharon added the embellishments.

Challenge #8 was one that had to do with "girl talk" (as you can see in the LO) and we had to do a theme about that, so I wrote about how "girl talk" has changed since I was in high school. I still keep in touch in with my best bud Lisa - but our "girl talk" has definitely changed over the years! Here is Challenge #8:

Well, that's it for me tonight. Have a fun rest of the weekend!

ADSR Challenge #5

Hi there! I just finally finished the LO for challenge #5. This one is supposed to be about someone/something that has influenced you in your life. I chose my Mom. She is about the only one that has always been there for me no matter what. She may get upset with me but she would never hold it against me and is always someone I can count on.

Credits are here

This weekend we are celebrating my Grandma's birthday and I have a few of my cousin's coming home that I haven't seen in a while (other side of the family this time). I'm looking forward to it and hoping to get a bunch of "cousin" pictures of my cousins little girls wiht my little girl! should be a good time. Yes, yes, I still haven't uploaded any of the LO's I did last weekend. Hopefully they will be up next week some time. I'm off for the weekend and I hope you all have a fun and safe weekend as well!

It's been a while!

Wow, time flies! Let's see, what have I been up to. Well, my DH took me to a Nickelback concert and it was AWESOME!! Puddle of Mud and Staind were also there and it Rocked! I had a great time and the music was great.

Then, the next morning my sweet hubby and I went golfing in 94 degree humid as humid can be heat!! Needless to say we made it through hole 7 and then called it a day. Do you know that golf story "I hate golf, I hate golf, I hate golf, nice hit! I love golf!". Well that is how my day went. You wouldn't believe it, I have never actually, truly Par-ed a hole (not sure how you golfly state that) and on hole #5 I tee-d off and on the first swing - my ball landed right on the green!!!!!!! I even had to take a picture because I couldn't believe it myself. Did I mention the little river/stream that I had to shoot it over as well?? Yeah, I made it over that (for some reason my golf balls are usually attracted to water and trees)!!!! It was a nice hit I do have to say so myself. At that moment I decided I liked golf again. So, there I was, 2 shots away from Par.

First shot I took, it stopped about 2 feet in front of the hole because I was scared to hit it too hard and overshoot the hole. So, I'm thinking to myself that I have to hit this just right to truly Par a hole for the first time EVER in my life (that is without cheating :-)). So, I hit the ball lightly and....

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!!! I couldn't! I was hoping for a breeze or something because that's all it would have taken for the ball to fall in the hole. Nope, nothing, no breeze and I even blew on it and it wouldn't budge. So, I had to settle for Bogie (however it's spelled). I hate golf.

This weekend was busy - a few of us girls got together and scrapbooked all weekend long. I actually completed (7) 12x12 pages!!! I was so impressed because I usually only complete a few. It was fun and we are planning on doing this again in September sometime. I will hopefully get a chance to take some pictures and get the LO's posted this week. (these were PAPER LO's - no digital this time)

That's it for me - I'm 30 minutes past my curfew.

nighty night -

ADSR Challenge #3

Credits are here

Here is ADSR Challenge #3. This one had to be some sort of fairy tale, princess or Queen/King type theme. Again, another tuff one for me! But, the LO is completed and that means I move on. The big prize is what I am aiming for!!! Well, this is it for me tonight as I have to pack for a couple day vacation. My DH is taking me to the Nickelback concert! Yippee!!!
Have a great next couple of days as I will not be posting till at least Friday.

ADSR Challenge #2

The 2nd challenge of this race was a bit difficult but we pulled it off! With this challenge my partner Sharon and I had to work on a LO together. Easy right? Well it was considering I live in the US and she lives in Australia!! So basically when I'm sleeping she's awake and when she's sleeping I'm awake! It's a good thing we both like to stay up till wee hours in the morning. So, here it is - our collaboration LO:

Credits are here

We also had to make sure we had flowers, a doodle, red and the word friendship on the page. I started the LO and then sent it to Sharon to add some of the red, her picture, and come up with a theme for the page. We were both struggling with the "friendship" part - we couldn't come up with anything that sounded right. So it was funny when I came across the same quote on the Internet as she did (without either of us knowing we both found the same one) so when she sent it to me - I knew it was the one we had to use! It's hard to read (that was all my fault) but it says "Strangers are a friendship waiting to happen". I think it fits well with the LO. Anywho, it's time to get to bed early for once and spend some quality time with the fam - well, I think they are sleeping already, so it's time to catch a little bit of the Twins game!

Have a great weekend everybody!

ADSR Challenge #1

Ok, this first challenge was really tough for me. Our first challenge of the amazing digi scraping race was a page on a museum you have been to or one you would love to go to. Turns out I'm not much of a museum-er at all so I wasn't even sure what I was going to scrap! The last museum I went to was when I was in the 6th grade (over 20 years ago) and I don't even remember the name of it. I thought long and hard about this challenge and the only thing that I could come up with was the Football Hall of Fame (I hope that counts as a museum). That is actually a "museum" I would love to go to but I'll wait until Cris Carter gets inducted :-)! Here is the LO I submitted for the first challenge. It isn't my best work, but when you don't have a lot of time to think (because they have to be submitted by a certain time) about the LO or even like the theme they went with, it's kind of hard to get your groove on! Oh, and the word "amazing" had to be somewhere in your LO in order for it to count...

The credits are here

Time for me to get some shut-eye!

I won!

Wow! My LO was chosen as one of the three winners in the Black and white challenge!! I couldn't believe it when I saw that my LO was chosen as one of the top 3 LO's to win the $20 gift certificate!! Check out her blog here as she has posted the winning LO's.

I had a busy weekend so I didn't get any scrapping done, but I did get a bunch of photos taken. We had a mini family reunion this weekend and it was a lot of fun. Sure is nice to see my cousin's that I don't get to see very often. We had cousins that flew from Arizona, Las Vegas and one that drove from Wisconsin. It's been a few years since I've seen them so it was fun to catch up again. It's always a good time when we get together, too bad we couldn't do it more often!

Maybe tomorrow I will have time to post some pictures from this weekend. Tomorrow is also the start of the amazing digi scrapping race! I'm really excited to start this race and I can't wait to see what the first challenge will be(or even how this race even works :-)).

Good night and have a great week!

Not again!

Ok, another night of breaking my curfew! I was planning on settling in early but then I remembered I still needed to submit my B&W LO yet! So, while I was doing that of course I had to search the galleries and before I knew it, it's 12:38am already! Darn.

For those of you paper and hybrid scrapbookers out there,
here is a blog that has some AWESOME ideas for your cricut (if you have one). That machine rocks, and Regina Easter has put together some cute cards, bags, boxes and wall art beautifully!

I even had to get my George cartridge out (the free one that came with the cutter) because I couldn't believe this flower(card made by Debbie Fisher) came from that cartridge!

The tags and flowers from this card were made from that cartridge (and frankly I don't care for the George font and rarely use it) and I had to get it out to see for myself that those cute adorable flowers were on there, and sure enough they were! Now my next (paper or hybrid) LO is definitely going to have those on there!

Here are a couple items that Regina has made (she noted that she used the new expressions for these - that one rocks too!)

Check out Regina's blog for even more ideas and CUTE stuff!!

Ok, that's enough for tonight!

Black and White Challenge

Here is a LO I just finished this evening for a challenge at it's all about me. If my LO is picked I get $20 worth of free product! Doubt I'll win but I have to try cuz it's $20 worth of FREE product and you can't beat that! Anyway - in this challenge you have to use the b&w alpha she has at her store and then the rest of the LO has to be 90% black and white. I hope I didn't go over the 90%!

The picture I used is a picture I scanned of my mom and dad. I've always thought it was a cool picture and the best part is that my mom put it through the typewriter and wrote on the top of it "Darryl and I trying for a comeback". I'm really not sure what the heck that means! I'll have to ask mom about that one. When I scanned it I made sure to keep that bit of journaling on there and also the rip on the right hand corner is real - not photoshoped :-)!

Well, I think I am going to call it a night because it's past my new 11pm curfew I set for myself. I need to start going to bed earlier. It's easy to do that tonight cuz the hubby took our daughter to the swimming pool tonight after supper so I did get to sneak on the computer a little earlier then normal so that means I get to quit earlier!

See Tony - I can get to bed at a decent time once in a while! (just checking to see if you'll read this and see your name and wonder if it's you I'm talking about or someone else.) hee hee!

Okay, here is tonights LO and cross your fingers so I win some free product!

oh, and I hope there are a few of you out there working on that "copy cat" challenge!!

Now I'm off to la la land.

The new COPY CAT challenge - keeping it simple

Okay, I’ve decided to start a new challenge. Well, there are tons of them on the internet, but I’m going to try another one! Since I’ve really been getting into digital scrapbooking these days, not only because it’s faster, easier for me, cheaper, takes up less space in my house but because I feel I can design better on the computer then I can using paper. But at the same time, I have tons of paper scrapbooking supplies that I just can’t let go. I still love the papers and embellishments too much that I still want to create with them. I just find it hard to come up with my own ideas with paper. Probably because I am so overwhelmed with all the supplies I have, that I just don’t know where to start. After looking thru magazines and blogs, I’ve been finding that I like the simple, clean layouts in paper scrapbooking (but I LOVE the bold, full of embellies, stitching, you name it on digital ones). That is why I have decided to do a challenge called “Copy Cat Challenge – Keeping it simple”. This way I will be able to copy those fabulous designs out there and maybe some day use up all my paper stash with sleek, clean designs scrap-lifted from others!

So, here we go…Copy Cat Challenge #1. This first copy cat is from Keisha Campbell. She is awesome and I love her style! Here is the LO that I have chosen to be the first "copy cat"!

and here is my "copy cat" version:

As you can see - I pretty much copied the entire LO! I made a 6x6 page so I had to cut the cute little journaling bubbles down to 3 instead of 4. Plus I didn't have a stamp to do the polka dots so I just left it out. My version is not as nice as Keisha's original - but it's another LO completed for me! Yippee! So, please feel free to change it up, completely copy it, use paper or go completely digital - it's all up to you!!!

Please, if you do try this challenge – email me the link or jpeg to: scrapingal89@hotmail.com and I will post it on my blog along with my version and everyone else that plays along too! I am going to try to do this at least once a month…maybe more. So keep checking for added updates.

I think that's it for tonight.
Hoping to see some new copy cat's in my inbox!!!

Good night,
Dzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The BIG one - that DIDN'T get away!

As promised, here is a new LO. This one is of my nephew Dillon that caught a huge walleye out on the lake with my husband and my brother. He was pretty excited about it. I think the older guys were a little jealous :-)! Credits are here. I rented 3 movies tonight so I better start watching them so I can return them on time!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the new challenge I am starting. I sure hope a few of you out there will join!

Thanks, and have a good evening!

It's Friday!

Yipee! Today is Friday and I was actually able to complete a LO. This one was made the old fashioned way - it was made with paper. I am trying to use up my paper supplies and one day completely go all digital but with all the paper supplies I have accumulated over the years, I need to actually use it up first! Here is a quick little LO I did with my daughters 3 year pictures. It's pretty plain but hey, it's done!

Check back tomorrow and I should have another LO completed and on Sunday I will be posting a challenge for everyone to participate in! I'll have all the details for you on Sunday so hopefully we will see you then!
